PowerEdge XR4000z Server
The PowerEdge XR4000z is an edge computing device designed to enable restaurants, retailers, and other small to medium- sized businesses to establish local computing for data-intensive workloads. It can support applications such as point of sale, security, AI inferencing, and more. Its form factor, expandability, customer support, and flexible mounting options make it an attractive product for customers who are growing and need easy-to-deploy computing onsite.
We worked with Dell to come up with mechanisms for securing the bezel to the chassis as well as concept development and implementation of a draw latch that allows the server to be stacked and connected to another server, or connected to a mounting plate so that the server is fixed in a retail or small business environment. For security, the latch handles needed to be locked when the bezel is connected to the server chassis and the bezel also needed to allow for easy filter installation and replacement.
Pump developed several ideas to solve these problems and built proof of concept prototypes to demonstrate the viability of the approach before handing off the design to the OEM team for final implementation.
